In 2012, a cooperative agreement was concluded between the National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Kanoya and the University of Tsukuba with the goal of developing educational research and playing a leading role in the field of physical education and sports. In 2013, in order to further promote collaboration, the “National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Kanoya Tokyo Satellite Campus (Office for the Promotion of Collaboration Between the University of Tsukuba and the National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Kanoya)” moved to the Bunkyo School Building on the University of Tsukuba Tokyo Campus, where it functions as both a satellite campus and a collaboration promotion office.
Going forward, the National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Kanoya Tokyo Satellite Campus, along with collaborating with the University of Tsukuba, will engage in a variety of activities, such as conducting educational research, collaborating with other universities and with private companies, collecting and disseminating information, and networking with alumni associations.
