{"id":75308,"date":"2024-02-19T11:18:00","date_gmt":"2024-02-19T02:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nifs-k.ac.jp\/?page_id=75308"},"modified":"2024-02-19T11:18:00","modified_gmt":"2024-02-19T02:18:00","slug":"tyokin","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.nifs-k.ac.jp\/en\/aboutus\/distinctive-initiative\/tyokin\/","title":{"rendered":"The \u201cChokin\u201d research project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The \u201cChokin\u201d research project<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>* \u201cChokin\u201d literally means to \u201csave up muscle\u201d by means of resistance training.<br \/>With consideration for the recent social issues of deteriorating physical strength and athletic ability among Japanese people, and the aim of increasing the health, fitness, and physical activity levels of both young and old alike, NIFS created the home-centered Chokin muscle training program and has been actively promoting it throughout Japan as the \u201cChokin for Everybody Research Project\u201d. The project has been carried out through the cooperative efforts of cities in several prefectures within Kyushu, including those of Kagoshima Prefecture (Kanoya City, Shibushi City, Minamikyushu City, Tarumizu City, among others), Kumamoto Prefecture, Miyazaki Prefecture, and Oita Prefecture. Additionally, in cooperation with universities and institutions of other Asian countries, the project has been conducted as the \u201cCollaborative Global Chokin Undou Research Project\u201d.
